Today is Mother’s Day: It’s a popular holiday that is celebrated on the 2nd Sunday in May in the United States and many other countries. Mother’s Day recognizes mothers, motherhood and maternal bonds in general. The first Mother’s Day was celebrated in 1908 through a service of worship in West Virginia. One fun fact is that Mother’s Day is the number one day phone calls are made.

It is important to find a way to celebrate all of those mother figures in your life. This is the one day that we have to make sure that we tell our moms just how much we love and appreciate everything they’ve done for us.

For example, you can buy flowers, go out for a meal or even just spend some time with them. Find a way to celebrate this day with those who mean the most to you. If you aren’t able to see them please take some time out of your day and call, text or tell your mom, grandma or any maternal figure happy mother’s day.
