Today is Labor Day! Labor Day is one of those federal holidays that is great because it helps give you a little break after transitioning back to the regular schedule. Let’s face it, September is one of those months that seems to slowly pass. Maybe because  the kids have gone back to school and summer break is over.

The day is celebrated on the first Monday in the month of September. It honors that American Labor movement and all of those that fought hard to get us to where we are today.

Some interesting facts is that it became a national holiday in 1894, and it is unofficially the “end of summer”. Labor Day is also a great day for shopping. Many companies use this day to plan large sales, and the only day with more sale is Black Friday.

Businesses across the country typically plan massive sales, aiming to attract customers with irresistible discounts and deals. Only the famed Black Friday surpasses it when it comes to the scale of these retail events. So remember, as you celebrate Labor Day, it’s more than just a day off. It’s a celebration of labor, history, seasonal transition, and, of course, a little retail therapy!
