Timothy the Cat and the Importance of Pet Tags
You may or may not know that our feed store kitty, Timothy accidentally took a joy ride with a customer, only to get out several miles down the road, which led to him being picked up by Fort Bend County Animal Control.
At the time he went missing, he had a collar and no tags. He was gone for a week and a half and we tried desperately to find him.
We were able to find a posting, thanks to my friend, Angela, who’s kids LOVE Tim, so we able to track his approximate whereabouts. Unfortunately, he had been picked up less than 48 hours before.
We were able to drive to Rosenberg and get him out of kitty jail. Needless to say, Tim now has a microchip, and not one, not two, but THREE tags!
Most importantly, he has a tag with his name and directions for his return if this happens again….which hopefully he learned his lesson to NOT get in the car with a stranger.
The moral of this whole story, well, there are actually two……make sure your pets have a collar AND TAGS on at all times and if your pet is missing, file a report with ALL OF the local animal control agencies. I reported Tim to Fort Bend County, Missouri City AND Houston Humane Society.
