Things To Do in Texas this February: Even though it is still pretty cold outside, there are plenty of things to do across the state of Texas. Between rodeos starting to pick up and even county fairs, one of the most popular events this month is Mardi Gras.

-San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo – February 6th – 23rd – In San Antonio – Since 1949, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo has grown to become one of the largest, most prestigious single events in the city of San Antonio, with approximately 1.5 million visitors entering the grounds each year. -Mardi Gras! Galveston – February 21st – March 4th – In Galveston – Mardi Gras! Galveston is held annually during the two weeks preceding Lent. The 2025 celebrations and festivities are held on both weekends and Fat Tuesday. Learn more here.
-Whooping Crane Festival – February 20th – 23rd – In Port Aransas – Each year since 1996, the Whooping Crane Festival has celebrated the annual return of the cranes to their wintering habitat at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. The Texas Coastal Bend is the only place where you can see the world’s last naturally occurring population of Whooping Cranes. Learn more here.
-Battle of the Alamo Commemoration – February 23rd – March 6th – In San Antonio – These events bring the Alamo’s unique story to life. Each year, we honor the 13-day siege leading up to the Alamo. Scheduled with corresponding days of special events and programming free to the public as well as special paid experiences.
