Things to do around Texas in September: September is one of those months in Texas where fairs and festivals really start kicking up! Things to do around Texas in September

With so many things going on, feel free to take some time this month to spend time with your family. It’s good to take a break from the regular hustle and bustle.

Events:

September 27 – October 6 – Fort Bend County Fair in Rosenberg – Through the years, the Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo has grown into one of the largest and most successful Fairs in the State. Residents of the county eagerly anticipate visiting with friends and neighbors. There are many activities the Fair and Rodeo has to offer during its 10 day run.

September 28thKolache Fest in HallettsvilleThe fun kicks off with a 5K beginning downtown with a parade mid morning!  Then make your way to the KC Hall for Live music. There’s also a delicious BBQ Cookoff, A Pie & Kolache Baking Contest. Don’t forget the the annual Car Show, Dancing and more! It’s shopping central as vendors make their way to the Kolache Fest each year and setup with great handmade goods, fashion items, toys, and tons of items! There’s a kids area filled with fun to keep the little ones busy, our 42 Domino Tournament, a Kolache Eating Contest, and the world’s biggest pizza!  

September 27th– October 20th  State Fair of Texas in Dallas – At 24 consecutive days, the State Fair of Texas is the longest-running fair in the nation. It’s also one of the largest. It remains evident that the State Fair serves not only as an annual celebration! It’s also as a unique destination that brings people from all walks of life together to create lifelong memories.
