• Texas Renaissance Festival: October 12th- December 1st in Todd Mission
  • The Texas Renaissance Festival is an annual Renaissance fair located in Todd Mission, Texas, about 55 miles northwest of Houston. The Texas Renaissance Festival started in 1974 on the location of an old strip mining site. The festival claims to be “the nation’s largest Renaissance theme park.”

• Island Oktoberfest: October 25th-26th in Galveston

  • Galveston’s premier fall festival – the 42nd Annual Island Oktoberfest – will be in historic downtown Galveston, October 25-26, 2024!Hosted by First Lutheran Church of Galveston in historic downtown Galveston for 41 years! First Lutheran is Texas’ oldest continual German church and is proud to bring Galveston’s premier fall event to the community free of charge with music, food, children’s rides, arts and crafts, and games!

• Austin Film Festival: October 24th-31st in Austin

  • Austin Film Festival furthers the art and craft of storytelling by inspiring and championing the work of writers, filmmakers, and all artists who use written and visual language to tell a story. In addition to an 8 day film festival and 4 day Conference, they offer Year Round Events, a Young Filmmakers Program, a TV show, Radio show, Podcast and more!

• Czhilispiel 50 – A Czech and German musical event – October 25th-27th in Flatonia

  • Czhilispiel is a nod to Flatonia’s Czech and German heritage.  First, the name comes from a play on the work “Chili.”  The addition of the “z” is a play on a Czech spelling, and the German work “spiel” means play.  The festival started in 1973 to celebrate the centennial anniversary of Flatonia. Above all, they are now celebrating their 52nd annual Czhilispiel!
