The USMC specializes in amphibious landings, such as those in World War II in the Japanese Islands and throughout the Pacific. Serving in every major US naval action since their inception, the Marines Corps slogan is “Siemper Fidelis”, which translates to Always Faithful.

The Marines are composed of two forces, the Fleet Marine Force, Pacific(FMFPAC) and the Fleet Marine Force Atlantic (FMFLANT). The Marine emblem is a Western Hemisphere, superimposed on a foul anchor and surmounted by a spread eagle.

The Marine band is the oldest musical organization in the U. S. Armed Forces. For example, it is known as “the President’s own,” as they are privileged to play at all state functions at The White House. The dress blue uniforms, with the upright white collar are distinct among our armed forces.
