Pad Thai Recipe
Pad Thai Recipe time! I’ve been dying to make Pad Thai. The great thing about it is that it is super versatile. You can pretty much make it with any type of protein. While I choose beef, you can use chicken, pork, shrimp or even tofu. The recipe is as follows:
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp of soy sauce
- 1 tbsp of garlic powder
- 1 tbsp of black pepper
- Protein of choice- cubed
- 1 tbsp of tamarind paste or ketchup
- 1 tbsp of fish sauce
- Juice from ½ a lime
- ½ cup of water
- 1 tbsp of brown sugar
- 2 tbsp of minced garlic
- 3 tbsp of minced shallot – can also use onions
- ½ of a bunch of green onions – sliced
- Rice noodles – cooked according to package instructions
- 2 eggs
- Optional – Chopped peanuts
- Optional – Bean Sprouts
Instructions
- Add 1 tbsp of soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper to protein of choice, mix well and set aside to marinate for however long you choose – I left it overnight.
- In a bowl, mix together remainder of soy sauce, tamarind paste or ketchup, fish sauce, lime juice, water, and brown sugar – mix well
- Place pan on stove and turn up to medium-high heat. Add oil and then add protein, sauté until cooked completely.
- Remove protein from the pan and then add garlic and onions to the pan.
- After they brown, add green onions and cooked rice noodles
- Add sauce to mixture and stir in
- Once everything is cooked, add 2 eggs and scramble, mixing into the noodles
- Add protein back to pan and mix everything together
- Remove from heat – if desired, add peanuts, bean sprouts, more green onions and/or lime juice to taste.
