October is SUCH a fun gardening month!  We are done with the Texas heat, and it is actually ENJOYABLE to be outside again (yeah!). Shop Arcola Feed for cool-season garden plants. Here is our October 2021 garden update!

It doesn’t matter what vegetables you like, there is something for EVERYONE in the garden this time of year!   Root crop time is NOW!  Get those root crop seeds in the garden! Beets, carrots, onions, turnips, it is their time to shine! Try new varieties of some of your favorites! There are long carrots, short carrots, even different colored carrots available now! Carrots are one of my absolute favorite vegetables!   I grow A LOT and freeze them to use all year!   It’s also a great time of year to plant lots of greens!   Just about any lettuce variety can go in the ground now!  Spinach, cabbage, kale, kohlrabi, broccoli, cauliflower, and so many more!   Stop by the feed store and check out of started plants, and get them in the ground!
