National Cheese Lover’s Day
Today is National Cheese Lover’s Day!! I LOVE CHEESE! Cheese is made all over the world and the varieties are ENDLESS!
To celebrate cheese day, go out and visit your local grocery store and grab several different types of cheese! Step out onto a limb and try something new, like a Manchego, a Spanish sheeps milk cheese, which can only be made in certain provinces south of Madrid, Spain. Try a spicy Monterrey jack cheese or perhaps some gouda.
When Alex and I were in Iowa last September, we tried some FABULOUS California cheese made by the Cypress Grove Cheese Company in Arcata. Their Humbolt Fog cheese is a soft ripened goat cheese that is simply INDESCRIBABLE and MAGNIFICENT! It is so good it was awarded first place by the American Cheese Society in 2019. Purple Haze is a delicious mixture of lavender and fennel pollen in a delectable fresh cheese. Cypress Grove Cheeses are available at most grocery stores or can be ordered directly from them at www.cypressgrovecheese.com. Pick up several varieties, add in some olives, pickles, deli meat, jellies, jams, nuts and make your own charcuterie board and take a break from cooking for a night!
In conclusion, stop by Arcola Feed and let’s get cheesy on National Cheese Lover’s Day!
