Mid Way Through 2022!
We are Mid Way Through 2022! While the actual middle of the year does not occur until later this week, the last day of June signifies that the year is half way gone. It’s hard to believe that 2023 is only 6 months away.
I am hoping that prices will stabilize and the supply chain issues that we have experienced in the last year and a half will start to straighten out soon. However, I don’t really have much confidence that will actually happen. So many factors have contributed to all of this mess that it’s going to take a LOT to get it back under control and prices to stabilize before we even begin to hope that they start to come down.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that when the corn harvest starts to come in, prices will correct on corn. I don’t have much hope for the other commodities. In addition, I also FULLY expect hay prices to double this fall and winter, due to the outrageous prices on fertilizer. If you have a place to store hay, I would suggest stocking up on it, or consider overseeing your pastures with winter rye and/or winter oats.
