March is the Month for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
March is the Month for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo! The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is an awesome event that will end March 17th, so now is the time to get your friends and family to the rodeo.
HLSR is the largest livestock exhibition and rodeo in the world.
The first Houston Rodeo was in 1931, when it was called the Houston Fat Stock Show. The event is 20 days long and is kicked off by the Downtown Rodeo Roundup held near Houston City Hall. There is also the Downtown Rodeo parade, the ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run – a 10k and 5k walk & run and the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest.
HLSR is an amazing event that gives attendees a chance to experience rodeo, livestock and even Fine Arts. The main goal for the rodeo is to raise money for youth, with over $26 million in scholarships being awarded in 2017 – and a total of over $430 million given since its creation. Feel free to buy tickets online and go out to experience the event firsthand.
