March 2022 Garden Tips
Our March 2022 garden tips include BEANS and CORN and so much more! March is a great transition month for your garden! It’s the end of winter and the start of spring! Yay!
The days are getting longer, the grass is growing and the flowers are blooming! Beans such as snap and limas can go in the ground now. If you are planting corn, now is the time to get that in the ground, too. Remember to plant your corn in close rows so it can pollinate!
If you have pepper transplants you can get those moved outside in the garden now. Give the tomato transplants until the end of the month to get them out as they are not as frost hardy as the peppers. Mustard greens, chard, turnips and more can go out if you haven’t already done so.
If you are planning on growing pumpkins, now is a great time to get them started so you can harvest them in early fall as they take quite a while to grow, especially the larger varieties, which can take over 4 months to grow. Cucumbers, eggplants(transplants) and squash can all be planted now, too. #howdoesyourgardengrow
