Lemon Meringue Pie Recipe
Lemon Meringue Pie Recipe time! So I know that I personally love having some cool desserts during the summer, as they are not only sweet but also help cool us down from the sweltering heat. One of my favorite desserts ever has to be a lemon meringue pie recipe by Paula Deen, and the best part is – IT IS SO EASY TO MAKE!
Ingredients:
- 1 (8 inch) or crumb crust pre-baked pie shell
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 3 egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 cup sugar
Directions:
- In medium bowl, combine milk, lemon juice and zest
- Blend in egg yolks
- Pour into cooled crust.
- Preheat oven to 325 °F.
For the Meringue:
- Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form
- Gradually beat in the sugar until stiff
- Spread over filling; seal to edge of crust
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until meringue is golden brown
This is a super easy dessert to make, and it is so much fun trying to get the meringue to turn out just the way you like. I personally doubled the recipe for the meringue, just for some extra height – but feel free to bake one with a regular amount of meringue on top. I hope you enjoy this Lemon Meringue Pie Recipe and HAPPY BAKING!
