Today is National “I Love Horses Day!”

A brown and white horse standing in a meadow to commemorate national I Love Horses DayToday is National “I Love Horses Day!” Do you have a horse that you love? Hop on over to our facebook page, and post a picture of your favorite horse! If you don’t have a horse of your own, post a picture of a horse you’ve seen that you would love to have.

My favorite horse of ALL TIME is the ONE AND ONLY Secretariat! Secretariat stopped the quarter century drought of no Triple Crown winners with his INCREDIBLE 32 length win, and time of 2.24. Subsequently, the record still stands today, 48 years later!

Certainly, if you have ever been in my office at the feed store, you have seen my horse photos and art on the wall. Firstly, right in the middle are wire shots of all three of “Big Red’s” Triple Crown Wins! My favorite is the Belmont, with him ALL alone in the stretch!

Secondly, on top of this collage is another, containing some race pictures of the dueling Sunday Silence and Easy Goer. This one happens to be signed by jockeys Pat Valenzuela and Pat Day. The middle is an awesome stretch run panoramic! Lastly, the photo on the right is another legend. It features John Henry on the way to winning the Arlington Million! He wins over The Bart, who was ridden by Willie “The Shoe” Shoemaker.
