Happy Palm Sunday and National Farm Animals Day
Happy Palm Sunday and National Farm Animals Day! Palm Sunday marks the fist day of Holy Week, and is marked by the distribution of blessed palms. I have palm that was given to me by my grandmother after the visit of Pope John Paul to San Antonio in September of 1987.
Today is also National Farm Animals Day! Do you have any farm animals? Well, if you do, give them an extra treat today! Some horse treats, some apples or carrots. If you don’t have any farm animals, consider making a donation to a farm animal rescue organization or your local animal shelter.
Farmers strive to take the best care of their animals, whether that animal is a production animal or destined to become part of the food chain. A well cared for animal, living in good conditions, eating a proper diet makes for a happier animal. Malnourished animals, or animals living in poor conditions should not have to endure those situations. If you see an animal living in bad conditions, please report it to your local law enforcement agency.
