Happy National Coast Guard Day! Here at Arcola Feed, we will always proudly support our troops. That definitely includes those who are in the United States Coast Guard.

Our nation’s coast guard started off as Revenue-Marine in 1790. It wasn’t until 1915 when it officially became the U.S Coast Guard. For a fun factoid, did you know that the U.S Coast Guard has served in every single one of the United States wars and conflicts? In total, this amounts to 17 different wars and conflicts, in which the coast guard has serves since 1790.

During World War II, records show that over 240,000 coast guard members served our country. The Coast Guard serves in a variety of services, including security, search and rescue, and enforces laws in both national and international waters.
