Guest Contributor: Dr. Sanchez, DVM

Dr. SanchezI am super excited to announce we have a new contributor to our monthly blog!   Manuel Sanchez, DVM will be adding a monthly post or two starting this month in October!  Dr. Sanchez is the owner of Sienna At Six Veterinary Hospital, located at 8790 Highway 6 #100 in Missouri City.  Dr. Sanchez is the veterinarian who performs our monthly vaccination clinics here at Arcola Feed. He is a great veterinarian, caring for all of my animals, including my goats!  Dr. Sanchez performed a cesarean section on one of my does and surgically repaired a very badly broken leg on one of my yearling goats. The goat jumped into the round bale feeder and fell out backward hanging by her front leg, which she broke above her knee.
If you need a veterinarian, I highly recommend you give Dr. Sanchez a call at 281-710-4268.  Without further adieu, here is Dr. Sanchez’s first contribution.
“Puppies and kittens, like children, need vaccinations to prevent diseases. The recommendation is generally to start vaccinations between 6 and 8 weeks on puppies and 8 weeks on kittens. Boosters are also required, normally at three-week intervals.  For a puppy or kitten to get the best protection from viruses, booster vaccinations are critical to the immune system’s response.  Preventing disease is always less expensive than treating the disease.”  Dr. Manuel Sanchez, DVM.
