Final Prep for Major Livestock Shows
Final Prep for Major Livestock Shows: In Texas, January marks the beginning of stock show major season. Stretching from January with Fort Worth to April with San Angelo – it is a busy time of year for anyone with show stock.
Here at Arcola Feed we always strive to stay on top of all of the major necessities for livestock. This includes feed, supplements, and all the supplies you could need. In order to stand out in the ring, you need your animal looking sharp and ready to put its best hoof forward.
Pre-show grooming should be meticulous, and should include carefully clipping and grooming their coat, making sure any white spots are as clean as they can be, and brushing their tail until it’s nice and fluffy. To achieve this show-ready look, you’ll need to put in plenty of practice time beforehand. Grooming a show animal can be challenging, and you don’t want to find yourself doing so for the first time at the event. You’ll also need the proper equipment like clippers, brushes, and clipper blades – all of which we carry.
Other important things to get revolve around nutrition, including feed, supplements, electrolytes and probiotics to keep your animal healthy even with the stress of traveling to shows across the state. We carry a huge range of products from Purina, Sullivans Supply and Weaver – all to help your livestock perform at the top of their game.
Feel free to stop by and check out our huge supply of products to help get your animals in top stock show shape.
