Electrolytes for your Pets and Livestock: Here it seems like summer has just begun and it is already a million degrees outside. Summer time can be hard on your pets and livestock.  You can add electrolytes to their water or feed to encourage ample water intake during the hot months.

We carry electrolytes for all species from chickens to cattle. Water consumption can be encouraged by providing plenty of cool clean water. Keeping your water sources in the shade helps to keep the water ten to twenty degrees cooler than water left in the  sun.

If you MUST keep your water outside in the sun, place it on the east side of a building, if possible. That way it is not in the  direct sun during the hottest parts of the day.  Automatic water founds will help to keep the water cooler than filling it once a day as water is replaced with cool water as it is being drunk from the bucket or trough. You can deter mosquitoes by using mosquito dunks. They are harmless to other animals, but prevent mosquito larvae from forming.
