Easy Chicken Pot Pie Recipe
One of my favorite cold day recipes has to be Chicken Pot Pie. Originally, I thought it was something that was difficult to make, but I found a petty easy recipe that taste even better!
Ingredients
1 chicken breast – sliced
½ onion diced
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
1 can – Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 can – Cream of Chicken Soup
1 bag of frozen mixed vegetables – I just used the Kroger Brand that as peas, corn and carrots
1 roll of premade pie crust – you can also make your own if you’d like
1 package of Filo dough – can also use pie crust
3 tbsp of butter – melted
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees
- Place pot on stove at medium to high heat
- Add olive oil, butter, or oil of your choice
- Add sliced chicken to pot and season to taste
- Cook chicken through and add onion and garlic
- Cook until onion and garlic is slightly browned
- Add cans and frozen veggies to pot
- Once cooked, remove from heat and set aside
- Place pie crust into greased pie pan with tall sides
- Add cooked chicken and veggie mixture
- If using filo dough – gently and loosely ball up filo dough
- Place pie crust or balled up filo dough on top of mixture
- If using pie crust, poke a few holes through the top of the crust
- Paint on butter to top
- Place in oven for 45 minutes or until crust is cooked through
