Having issues with your cows not getting pregnant or losing condition while pregnant or lactating? Has your forage suffered during the summer?

You might want to try mineral supplementation to improve your cattle on pasture condition. Arcola Feed carries a variety of supplemental mineral and protein sources. We have tubs, blocks and even loose mineral.

Tubs, blocks and loose minerals are easy. Simply set them out and let the cattle come to them to eat. It is recommended that you place several blocks or tubs out, away from the water source, so that the more timid cattle can also feed on these without being bullied away by more dominant animals.

One tub or block per 10 to 15 head is a recommended rate, but you can adjust up or down, depending upon the individual animals in your herd. Most of these products have a limiter, which will keep them from overeating.

If you have horses in the pasture with your cattle, you MUST feed an ALL NATURAL tub that does not contain urea, which is toxic to horses. Arcola Feed carries several all natural options. Visit us anytime on Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. or on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you have questions about cattle health or supplies, feel free to also give us a call at 281-431-1014.
