Building an arbor is a fun project that the whole family can enjoy building and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg.  It’s super easy! The cost is under $50. It can be completed in under an hour.

Ours is about 20 years old and consists of a hog panel and 4 metal t posts.  It has star jasmine that grows on it. The jasmine only blooms for a short time each year in late spring. However, it is green and gorgeous the rest of the year, too.  It’s a great conversation piece, and a really cool way to showcase the entrance to our vegetable garden.

Simply put your t-posts securely in the ground. Bend your hog panel into shape and secure the ends to the t-posts. You can plant just about anything on it.  Grapes, cucumbers, beans, etc.  Ours is beautiful and when the jasmine is in bloom it smells absolutely wonderful. As you can see in the pictures, there are planter boxes and a picket fence off to the side as well.  You can make it as simple or as intricate is you desire.
